A romantic escape to the southern highlands inspired the autumn wedding of Phaedra Giblin and Steven Fuller. The couple fell in love with the region’s picturesque vineyards and fairytale-like churches, and chose a dove grey, white and green colour scheme in keeping with their country setting.
Phaedra’s paris-based sister discovered elegant silk bridesmaids’ dresses in a french boutique. The soft muted tones proved a spectacular contrast to the stunning Louise Alvarez silk chiffon wedding gown Phaedra found in Sydney. A piece of wedding linen belonging to Phaedra’s french grandparents was wrapped around her bouquet as ‘something old’.
Steve, meanwhile, was honoured to wear Phaedra’s late Grandparent’s rose gold cufflinks. After an intimate ceremony, Steve’s dad tolled the old church bell to herald a new beginning for the happy couple.
When their dream day ended, the couple was lucky enough to be able to do it all again – in the south of France! “My godfather and my mother’s family held another reception for us in France when we arrived there on our honeymoon – it was magical.”
