Hi just want to say thanks to everyone, i was best man on the weekend and the all the staff did an amazing job, i love how the speeches were separated to have the best man and groom a little bit later on in the night rather than overloading guests in one big hit. Also loved how the desserts were served around on trays because usually at this time no-ones at their tables so it made alot of sense to bring chocolates and ice-creams and macarons out to everyone whilst theyre mingling. And just want to give a extra special thanks to Lara, i was super nervous before the speeches and she was so attentive and helpful with everything that really put me at ease. Thanks Lara

We held our Indian wedding at sergeants mess.

The venue is beautiful with water views. We held our ceremony indoors due to weather conditions. The room was adequately sized to fit our guests (~150).

The staff on the day was well organized, professional and very easy to work with. They were clearly well experienced at hosting weddings and they ensured our event ran very smoothly.

Due to its location in a national park, Sergeants Mess has some strict policies. We would recommend discussing all your event needs with the venue prior to booking.

We held our Wedding reception at Sergeants Mess and it was the easiest decision we made! We immediately fell in love with the venue - the view is stunning, the location feels private, and while the dining room is spacious, it feels intimate and inviting.

The planning process was seamless. Communication with Lily was excellent, she promptly answered all of our questions and catered to all of our needs. The food was phenomenal, all of our guests loved the food! On the day, our venue manager Brooke and bridal attendant made sure we were well looked after throughout the night.

I did a live wedding painting here of the couple's first dance and it was beautiful! The venue is so classic with a stunning view of the harbour. There was plenty of space for me to set up next to the musicians, and the guests were able to come up and see the painting. The food was also delicious!

Sergeants Mess has been one of my favourite venues in Sydney for years, the views are amazing and there's a cute beach just right for photos called Chowder Bay, it's only a short walk away!

Lily Morris has been amazing to deal with from day one. She helped us have a smooth and easy wedding! The venue is gorgeous, the food was amazing and the staff on the night (Abby and Lara) went above and beyond. Very grateful as it will be a night I'll never forget.

Sergents Mess was very well above our expectations. We planned a wedding ceremony and celebration within 3 weeks with Lily and her team who were incredible.

We had a shared table menu for our guests and I cannot explain how much EVERYONE enjoyed their meals and loved the option of this menu. Our guests were able to interact with one another and try all the food served which was a real highlight of the day. (Yes Lily, we were right - we definity had nothing to worry about with your Chef; there was plenty of food for everyone! !)
Our guests were never short of a drink because the service provided was on point and no one was ever waiting too long for anything they asked for.

We had our wedding reception at Sergeants Mess in August 2023 and I could not recommend this venue enough. Brooke (our co-ordinator) made the entire planning process stress free and was always available to answer our millions of questions! Could not have done it without her. On the night, we had Brooke and Tom leading the team - who were all incredible and were always there when we needed them. All of our guests absolutely raved about the food and service. The absolute best venue!

All the staff members are really helpful starting from the planning and also the actual event day. Special thanks to Brooke our event manager and Abby the venue manager who give some much assistance to us through out the whole process. Really Appreciate!

Great venue, exceptional food (catered to gluten free vegan dietary restrictions brilliantly). Staff were amazing. In particular, Brooke P was a standout. Very accommodating, friendly and just an amazing person for service.

Wow, wow, WOW. We booked this venue for our wedding and you HAVE to as well. If I wrote everything I wanted to in this review, I would need a publisher.
This venue gives you everything. Location (you've seen their photos). Size! you get the whole venue, this includes the reception room, a bar and a function room, plus the balcony area. And trust me, when the sun is setting you want to be out there for the view. Privacy (it's secluded, but so easy to get too) The backdrop to make the photos of your dreams. Parking directly outside the venue (this is public, but plenty of it).
Then, the food!! They have a massive choice and that includes vegetarian. We went with the Choice menu. This allowed our guests to actually have 3 choices of food for each course. We loved this because it allowed us to have a dedicated vegetarian option for each course.
Our coordinator (planning) - Lily, was an absolute dream to work with and went above and beyond to accommodate our every request.
Our Bridal Attendant (on the day) - Abby, was exceptional on keeping everything running to perfection. Once the ceremony was over we retreated to our private room where Abby had provided us with a bottle of champagne and other refreshments and also food so we could relax and take it all in.
The reception was a hit and no guests complained about the food/drink or the time it took them to be served. Every guest has praised the venue and hospitality.

Pro Tip: We got married on a Thursday - Ask the venue about the price on being married outside of Friday/Saturday. You'll be shocked in the best possible way.

I really have so much more to praise, but I hope I covered the best points for anyone looking for a venue. They ABSOLUTELY have to be on your shortlist for a venue. Just go and talk to them and I promise they will become your #1 choice.

We had our wedding here on September 2023. The venue is beautiful during the day and the guests had such a great time here! It is spacious enough for all the guests to find a place to relax and enjoy. The children enjoy the outdoor space too!

Brooke has been very accommodating and great at communicating with us. We had meetings and emails where Brooke tried to help us to coordinate the reception that we wanted.

On the day, a big shout out to Jess and Abby. Jess and Abby and their team was amazing! They communicated so well with our MC. They were so organised and friendly that we felt so at ease at every step of the way on the day. All the guests had felt so welcomed and they gave us amazing feedback of the reception.

There are also many incredible photo spots to be found around the venue or down at Chowder Bay (30 seconds down the Rd). The staff are also very accommodating at this venue. I would definitely recommend checking it out.

We got married here on 15/12/2023.
As a venue alone it was visually breathtaking but as a whole operation, I haven't enjoyed such a professional experience ever before.
They are so across every facet of a wedding and I honestly could not find one fault in what they have to offer.

Brooke Ferro the event coordinator was super friendly and extremely organised and thorough with every aspect in the lead up. She put so much time into our event.

On the night another Brooke managed the occasion and was everywhere! She was so nice and accomodating.

All the staff were incredible. Every guest was looked after, the food and drinks kept coming. Any request was politely attended to.
It was a one stop shop from ceremony to reception and we were so impressed throughout the whole night. Lot's of very nice touches.

I had my wedding at Sergeants Mess in Dec 2023, and I cannot speak more highly of the Sergeants Mess team. Lily was our coordinator and was extremely organised and professional, keeping us on track with next steps even though we didnt have a planner.

My husband and I had a beautiful ceremony and wedding at Sergeants Mess. It was an easy decision selecting this venue given the intimate location and stunning waterfront view. On the day, Brooke and Abby were attentive, efficient and helped to ensure that the event schedule ran smoothly. Had our wedding there on saturday 9th march 2023. Honestly we were nervous, we heard from some friends that the venue had issues with their service and food. But during our wedding the service and food was faultless! I saw everyone get food shortly after bridal table and no one was left too long for want of drink or other. We got oyster stations too, and the oysters were so fresh and of different varietals our guests really enjoyed these. Just a really special and classy venue all round, beautiful surroundings, a scenic backdrop with the entire building being dedicated to your event. We were also lucky the venue had just been freshly carpeted.

We had our wedding at Sergeants Mess this weekend and safe to say, it was an absolutely incredible night thanks to the excellent service, co-ordination and assistance of the staff. Our special day ran like clockwork and all of the staff from the event co-ordinator Lily, to Christine and Lana and Tom on the day were very professional and at the same time extremely warm and welcoming. A lot of the guests came up to us and mentioned how nice the staff were on the night. The food was delicious and safe to say everyone was more than well fed. I'm happy to report that was definitely the case for our wedding (which was booked only 6 months out). Lily was our event coordinator and was always friendly, accommodative and responsive to our countless queries! Our 230+ guests loved the views, the food was sublime and we honestly couldn't have asked for more!

What a lovely venue, tucked away in a secret place where you just dont know youre in Sydney. The function was beautiful and seamless and the food options, delicious. Just lovely.

My (now) wife and I had a wonderful wedding experience with the team at Sergeants Mess.

Planning was well documented and organised, and we had a key contact every step of the way who was responsive and clear on timelines and requirements to make everything a success.

The tasting dinner that they offer is a great experience and really helps get everything organised menu-wise, though the food and wine is so good that its very hard to pick what to keep!

On the day, everything went swimmingly. The amphitheatre outside is glorious and the view and vibe with everyone there is exceptional, especially when you have a string quartet playing on the bar balcony!

The staff helping, particularly Abby the co-ordinator on the day, were all exceptional and went the extra mile to help. At one point there was a slight issue with the brides dress, and while the bridal party did their best to find a way to fix it, as soon as Abby found out she had the solution in minutes!

The food was excellent, and the alcohol selection was very impressive, we were able to serve wines that we really connected with, and everything was well received by the crowd.

Great Venue! Staff were extremely helpful and accomodating. x2 Venue managers stayed till late at night and ensured everyone had a great time.

Sergeants Mess is a hidden gem for wedding venue - beautiful place, decoration, sound system, amazing view, excellent services, professional & friendly manager & staff, delicious food and children-friendly. We had our wedding there last month in September. We feel highly supported right from the time we make an enquiry till the very special day. A special shout out to Brooke Persini, our awesome event coordinator, who has been excellent, professional and gone above and beyond in our journey. Our deep gratitude from the bottom of our heart for your constant support & assisted us with last minute changes and updates on our guests too. We had a very special memorable wedding and many guests were impressed too. Thank you Sergeants Mess and team!

Stunning venue, great staff, highly recommend

Our wedding at Sergeants' Mess was truly an amazing day & experience.

The sweeping views of Sydney Harbour provided the most incredible backdrop for our ceremony, and then venue itself had everything we could have dreamed of. Our guests loved the variety of spaces and options to enjoy throughout the evening - the bar area, the downstairs lounge area, the function room, the balcony, it has everything.

Brooke, our wedding coordinator, was fantastic, guiding us through every detail of the planning process (of which there are heaps of little things to address!). On the day, William, the manager, was superb no request we had was too difficult for him, and he was always there to ensure everything ran smoothly, which it did.

We would highly recommend Sergeants' Mess for any special occasion but particularly a wedding - we loved it and our guests loved it too!

We had the most incredible wedding at Sergeants Mess in October last year! From the moment we first visited, we knew it was the perfect place for our special day. A huge thank you to Brooke and Abby for their outstanding support.

Brooke was incredibly organized and attentive, keeping us updated throughout the planning process to ensure everything stayed on track. Abby expertly managed all our vendors, which allowed our wedding day to run seamlessly.

Our guests couldnt stop raving about the delicious food and exceptional service. We truly appreciate everything you both and the staffs on the day did to make our day unforgettable!

Our wedding Day - 24th August 2024
From the moment we visited Sergeants Mess for our viewing, We fell in love with the venue and the amazing service.
I continued to drag my (now) husband to 15 different venues to make sure we had the right one, and we both kept coming back to Sergeants Mess!
From the very beginning to the very end nothing was ever a problem and the team couldnt be anymore helpful. A big thank you to Brooke our event coordinator for making our dream wedding come true, she was so patient and calm and made the whole wedding planning experience a breeze.
Another big thank you to William and Abby for all your amazing help on the night of the wedding, from when we arrived to when we left our wedding, everything was taken care of and our wedding went off without a hitch!
Our guests continue to talk about how amazing the venue was including the outstanding view, amazing food and impeccable service!
