Both working as doctors at a Sydney hospital, after work drinks with colleagues saw sparks fly between Julia and Timothy. Talking well into the night the pair didn’t even realise when the rest of their companions had left for the evening.
Eleven months later, again at the same local pub, with the pair celebrating Julia passing her speciality exams, Timothy, who had had an elaborate proposal planned, spontaneously popped the question on the spot.
After a weekend away in Bowral the newly engaged couple fell in love with an elegant country estate for their celebrations.
“We chose a French provincial theme for our wedding and Alicia from Form Over Function was fantastic with incorporating all my ideas into the most beautiful decorations.”
“I felt so special. Tim commented for weeks following our wedding how at that moment he knew without a doubt how lucky he was,” said Julia.
The couple exchanged vows as Ennio Morricone’s ‘Gabriel’s Oboe from The Mission’ played.
“I had sneakily changed the vows at the last minute to add some personal surprises,” Julia said. “Back when Tim wanted to keep dating he had, despite being so well educated and eloquent, suggested we ‘keep hanging out’. I included in the vows that we ‘keep hanging out forever’. He almost burst out laughing during the ceremony after hearing that!”
The happy couple also ensured that those extra special touches were included for guests. “We had recovery packs as our favours in small tasteful brown craft bags. Inside was Berocca, water, Panadol, chocolate and l’Occitane products, and even collapsible ballet flats for the girls,” said Julia.
