Savannah Faulkner and Josh Street knew that Koh Samui would be the perfect location for a destination wedding after holidaying there prior to their engagement. They were left without any doubt when they managed to squeeze in a quick return trip before the big day (purely for research purposes, of course!)
Wedding co-ordinators Take us to Thailand came up with a terrific list of venue options, and the couple settled on an exclusive beachfront retreat.
“It stood out immediately for its amazing menu, beautiful location and funky styling. Everything turned out exactly as we had hoped,” Savannah said.
A tailored wedding website kept family and friends up to date with arrangements and a welcome cocktail party several days before the event gave guests a chance to meet and mingle. The couple broke with tradition by spending the night before the wedding in a private villa, sharing a relaxed breakfast together as their dream day unfolded.
Savannah knew that she wanted to wear a bespoke gown and tried on several styles in order to see what suited.
“The two dresses that ended up being my favourites were completely different which meant I wasn’t able to combine any of the features but, I ended up deciding on a low back, full lace dress with cap sleeves and a slight mermaid skirt. I absolutely loved my dress!” she said.
Savannah’s bridesmaids’ white lace dresses were found on the racks of a popular fashion store, and complemented her gown perfectly.
“The girls looked amazing, and we have since received so many compliments on the white and light grey colour scheme.”
Savannah says she will never forget the moment she made her entrance with her Dad, walking towards her best friend filled with anticipation.
