“It symbolised the fact that our girls are always with us on our big day, and I was the fifth bride to wear the charm,” Samantha explained. Samantha found her stunning gown with its intricate beaded detail at the Paddington boutique of couture designer Johanna Johnson, and she gave full credit to Johanna’s stylist for selecting the perfect one.
The suit shopping was left to a very capable Jeremy, and when it came to choosing the bridesmaids’ dresses, Samantha said the retail assistants were equally fantastic.
“One of my girls was three and a half months pregnant and had a tiny bump at the time. We narrowed the dresses down to two and the shop assistant pulled out a bowl for Lisa to put on her tummy to get an idea of how big she “might” be at the wedding. The dresses looked amazing on and the girls said they were comfortable, tick tick!
When the big day finally arrived, Samantha said her walk down the aisle was simply wonderful.
“Being surrounded by friends and family with my arms linked with dad and the man of my dreams in front of me was the best feeling.”
Samantha said she will also never forget the wedding waltz to Lionel Richie’s ‘All Night Long’, and the best man’s hilarious speech complete with a solo dance of his own. During the planning stages, the couple sometimes joked that they should elope because it would all be so much easier.
“But we are so glad we didn’t – we had a fairy tale wedding, and it was an absolute dream come true.”
