After a proposal in Central Park in New York with a Tiffany & Co. diamond ring, Nikki Wilson-Smith and Mathew Tinney began planning their ideal wedding in Australia. "I think passers-by in Central Park thought we had been mugged because we were both crying so hard with happiness!" Nikki laughed..
During the planning process Nikki and Matt were living in Perth. “At times it was challenging to organise a wedding in New South Wales, especially with the time difference, but my sister was a real support to us. Her event management experience definitely came in handy!”
Nikki and Mathew were keen to capture the elegance and simplicity of the 60s in the styling of their rustic wedding. They used a colour palette of ivory, navy and duck egg blue and Nikki’s bridesmaids wore classic 60s silhouette dresses from Alannah Hill.

The reception venue was awash with flowers. Three floral wreaths hung from the ceiling and the fireplace was covered in bright blooms.
Table centrepieces featured sweet-smelling freesias, gardenias and lisianthuses for a provincial garden look.
