Whilst sitting on the beach at Point Nepean in a special spot dedicated to her grandfather, Charlie asked Jessica to marry him. “We had always joked about Charlie proposing with a cheezel as the engagement ring and so initially he pulled a box of cheezels out of his bag,” laughed Jess. “But I didn’t quite believe it when another little box followed - he had found the most stunning antique ring. I just love it.”
Marrying at her family’s house where she had spent so many summers growing up, Jess said that stepping out onto the balcony and seeing Charlie standing at the end of the aisle in the garden was unforgettable.
“I remember when Charlie and I eventually headed off at the end of the night, we looked back at the glowing marquee behind us; the music was still playing and everyone was dancing. It was hard to leave – it had been such a brilliant day.”
