How did you meet?
"We met at school (back in 2008) at Carey Baptist Grammar School."
Tell us about the proposal.
"Jack was very coy (but very cute) with his proposal. He all of a sudden became very ‘social’ heading off to see friends which I found out later was really him meeting with the amazing team at Simon West Jewellery to designing my Engagement ring.
One weekend we took a trip to Lindenderry in Red Hill where jack organized a picnic and proposed by a lake at the beautiful vineyard, I really wasn’t expecting it!"
How did you choose your Venue and location? Why?
"We stumbled across Mitchelton Winery prior to Jack's proposal where we fell in love with the venue (modern yet had the country feel with it being situated on the river)- we knew this was the perfect venue so all guests could stay on site as well as being able to fulfil our outdoor wedding dream. The river aspect was a huge factor in deciding on our venue as Jack grew up in Echuca on the Murray River and it was really sentimental."
Tell us about your Gown (style, how you found it, what you loved about it). What about the groom and the bridal party fashion choices?
We really wanted to create two completely unique looks for both the Ceremony and the reception that still complimented each other. Countless hours and meticulous detail went into creating these bespoke gowns! My first gown was constructed with Italian silk faille and it was fully hand beaded with details in a tiny mirror backed Swarovski crystals, thousands of both bugle and seed beads, hand embroidered floral stems using bullion thread and silk thread foliage.
I loved the unique shorts feature and being able to change into something for the reception that was fun and had amazing movement so we could dance all night!
What Style / Styling did you choose for your wedding? (eg: colour scheme, flowers, stationery, cake, transport, details, themes, inspiration, the overall “look and feel”)
"I wanted the overall style to be fairly modern in detailing yet included rustic elements throughout the reception using wine barrels as cocktail tables and wooden detailed bars.
The flowers were so important as they brought colour back into the styling with blush tones and fluffy textures with an array of soft florals throughout the reception."
What were the highlights of your day?
"A key highlight for me was standing back with each other and looking into the reception at all our loved ones enjoying the day."
Tell us about any funny, poignant, challenging or emotional moments?
"Everyone was pretty emotional throughout the vows and speeches including us (I found it pretty hard to get through them) but it was happy emotional! Haha"
Where did you go for your Honeymoon? Why?
"Due to Jack's football commitments, we have decided to wait for the offseason for our honeymoon but planning a trip to Europe together, Paris and Italy are on the cards and we can't wait!"
Do you have any advice for other brides?
"My advice is to enjoy the day- if something doesn’t go to plan, it’s not the end of the world, and more times than not no one will even realise. Also, to take a moment together during the reception to see everyone having fun it’s a memory I will always hold."
What music did you have throughout the special moments in the day/evening? (eg: walking down the aisle, first dance, etc)
"We had a cover of Ed Sheeran's ‘Tenerife sea’ for the bridesmaid walk, a Hayley Klinkhammer cover of ‘I can’t help falling in love with you’ and Alicia Keys ‘If I ain’t got you’ for our first dance."
