How did you meet?
Nicolas and I met on a night out at Club 23 at Crown Casino. I had just returned from my Europe trip. Nicolas was studying in Australia. He planned to only study in Australia then return home to Chile after his course completion. His home now is Melbourne Australia
Tell us about the proposal?
Nicolas proposed to me in his home country Chile. We planned to spend 2017 Christmas and New Years with his family in Chile. I had never met his family and this was my first time meeting them all. Four days after my arrival 20th December 2017 we spent a week away at the tip of the world- one of the many wonders of the world Torres del Paine. There he proposed to me with his family involved popping the champagne in the middle of the Paines. It was a massive surprise to me! But there was nothing going to stop me saying “yes”
How did you choose your venue and location? Why?
We originally wanted to get married at a vineyard and winery. However, after much discussion with family, venues were too distance.
We then wanted a venue with a beautiful location and we found Showtime Events. It was perfect. From day one, we fell in love with it! Perfect along Southbank and the venue was gorgeous! We adored the space and the potential to cater for any style! We also were introduced to Gavin who was amazing from day one up until the days prior to our big day.
Who was part of your bridal party?
Our bridal party consisted of my close sousing, brother as well as close friends.
What was your favourite part of the wedding planning?
Gavin was amazing! Showtime definitely take so much stress out of the wedding process. Showtime have their own recommended suppliers which narrows down the list to the best suppliers. Our per person price included gorgeous centrepieces and the food menu is super delicious! Showtime Events were always friendly, relaxed but also organised and professional.
My favorite part of the wedding planning was seeing everything come together such as centrepieces, special effects, floor plan, floral installations as well as selecting our food menu!
The whole process at Showtime Events was stress-free and it is no wonder why they are rated number 1 in wedding functions.
Tell us about your gown (style, how you found it, what you love)
I found Ángela Manno online who perfectly altered and amended my dress to fit my body. Angela made the gown for me and the experience was so personal. I had 3 fittings and she produced a sensational veil that catered to our church ceremony!
What were the highlights of your day?
During the interval between the ceremony and reception we had a 2 hour boat cruise along Southbank. We cruised and celebrated our marriage with our intimate family including parents, siblings and close family members. The weather was perfect and it also provided us with opportunities to chat with our family members as well as relax enjoying wine and nibbles.
What style / styling did you choose for your wedding? (Colour scheme, flowers, stationary, cake, transport)
We choose Bouquet Melbourne. Julia was wonderful. We had one meeting with her and everything was organised. She knew our style. We didn’t really have one particular style.
Bridesmaids dresses were white and groomsmen were black. Flowers and decorations as well as cake was decorated to suit a greenery style. Our centrepieces were orchids and were a show stopper.
Is there any decisions or preperations you’re glad you made for the big day? (Arrival cocktails for guests, spare pair of shoes etc.)
Organising the boat cruise with Classic Steamboat Cruises between our ceremony and reception was the best decision we made. It provided so much downtime and relaxation for us for a big day.
We also provided our guest with a photo booth. Despite not making it to the booth, we have a USB and book with everyone’s photo booth photos and a message.
We catered for our guest and bombeneries were take home personalised things and slippers which everyone used on the dancefloor and most importantly, this kept everyone on the dancefloor. Our DJ Marz kept the music flowing throughout the night which created such a party atmosphere! He kept the party going non stop particularly with Latin music.
Tell us about any funny, poignant, challenging or emotional moments from your big day?
The most challenging emotional moment was definitely dancing with my father. The tears were free flowing!
Where did you go for your Honeymoon? Why?
Nothing planned as yet as we had family members travel from overseas to attend our wedding. We have been busy hosting and showing them around beautiful Australia.
Nicolas and I plan to honeymoon in Europe.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to other couples?
Enjoy every moment and take time as a couple throughout the day.
Make decisions based on your opinions and not others.
Even if things go wrong on the day, just remember the true reason why you’re marrying someone and that always brings a world of happiness.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Showtime Events...number one for a reason! Beyond sensational and exceeded my expectations! I could not recommend them enough! You will not regret selecting Showtime events! Adored Gavin and all the beautiful staff.
